Dell’Oro is a market research organization that has tracked and analyzed the telecom equipment market for many years. Recently, Dell’Oro released the global telecom equipment market report for the first quarter of 2020.
The report covers the entire telecom equipment market including broadband access, microwave and optical transport, mobile core and radio access networks (RAN), SP routers and CE switches. The data shows that the overall telecom equipment market fell by 4% year-on-year in the first quarter of 2020, slightly lower than the forecast of 1% growth for the whole of 2020.
The report gives the market revenue of telecom equipment suppliers. The data shows that in the first quarter of 2020, the global communications market share rankings are: Huawei (28%), Nokia (15%), Ericsson (14%), ZTE ( 11%), Cisco (6%). The top 5 telecom equipment manufacturers account for 78% of the global share, and the rest is shared by some small telecom equipment manufacturers.
Compared with 2019, Huawei, Nokia and Cisco all fell by 1 percentage point, Ericsson was flat and ZTE increased by 1%.
The report noted that in the first quarter of this year, the mobile core network equipment market grew by 10 percent compared to the same period last year. Among them, the combined share of Huawei and Ericsson exceeds 50%, and the total share of Nokia, ZTE and Cisco exceeds 25%.
